West of Meursault, and slightly over the back of the hill, Auxey is known for its sound and sometimes rustic wines. Needless to say, there is little rustic about Matrot’s Auxey rouge, which is crammed full of juicy red berry fruit and a firm bite of tannin. This will open up beautifully during the course of the year.
