Where Songlines Shiraz is destined to age for a good ten years before really being approachable and Leylines is destined for drinking within the first five years of its life, Bylines Shiraz is in the middle ground, becoming drinkable at around five years of age but then being able to last for another 5 years plus. To achieve this, it undergoes some very serious, high-quality, treatment including 18 months in mainly French oak. Densely coloured and intensely flavoured, with hints of chocolate and mocha behind the toasty red and black berries, this has a substantial yet supple tannic backbone to allow it to age well, whilst the succulent fruit allows it to be drunk now.
