Based in the Entre-Deux-Mers, between the Garonne and the Dordogne rivers, Château Lamothe Vincent has belonged to the Vincent family for four generations with the current generation benefitting from having worked in wine all over the world. Their white, a blend of 90% Sauvignon and 10% Sémillon, remains on its lees for up to 6 months with batonnage to broaden the flavours and is described by Jane MacQuitty in her Times Top 100 Wines series as a “lively, herb-laden white” – perfect as both an apéritif or with food.
"Since 2000 it has been reassuring to see the Bordelais treat their white wines as seriously as their reds, with standards rising greatly. Last year was a great Bordeaux vintage, yet not quite so starry for whites as it was for reds. Even so, any one lapping up this lively herb-laden white, made predominantly from sauvignon blanc grapes topped up with sémillon, will have no complaints.” Jane MacQuitty, Times Top 100 Wines of Summer 2010
