Despite the rather generic appellation of Bordeaux Blanc, Château de Marsan is to be found in the 1ères Côtes de Bordeaux along the eastern bank of the Garonne. A blend of 70% Sauvignon and 30% Sémillon it is a gorgeous grassy wine with hints of lemon and sherbet – very refreshing.
This delicious and inexpensive wine has received a lot of attention from the Press:
"tuck in to this contemporary bold, grassy, green tomato-spiked, sauvignon blanc-dominant bordeaux, topped up with buttery semillon and tailor-made for summer’s fishy salads." Jane MacQuitty, The Times Top 100 Wines of Summer 2009
"Serious Sauvignon Blanc: full with lifted citrussy fruit and a depth of flavour that would repay aging." Steven Spurrier, Decanter Magazine (three stars)
"Bristling Sauvignon Blanc with grassy, currant-leaf flavours, a touch of spice and minerality. Now-2010." Joanna Simon, Decanter Magazine (three stars, 16/20)
