Exceptionally 100% Sauvignon in 2007, in 2008 Château de Sours has reverted to its more normal 50/50 Sauvignon/Sémillon, with the Sémillon tempering the racy Sauvignon fruit. Barrel fermentation gives a very gentle toasty edge to the wine, but the primary characteristics are fresh, lemony fruit, zingy acidity with some floral notes behind.
"Aromatic ping along with steely freshness and a touch of herbal complexity greet the nose. Sip it and this is a wine of intense zest and freshness with a twist of coriander aromatic to it. Citrus power and seriously palate cleaning." The Wine Gang.
