A soft spot for Lamy…
In The Times on Saturday 12th November 2011, Jane MacQuitty wrote about Hubert Lamy 's Bourgogne les Chataigners 2009, selecting it as "The Keeper" in her weekly column:
“Saint-Aubin delivers some of the best-value Côte d'Or white burgundies and I have long had a soft spot for the Lamy family's beguiling, sweet hazelnut oak-scented wines. There have been Lamys in Saint-Aubin since 1640 but it was Hubert who created the domaine almost 40 years ago. Now Olivier, his son, is in charge. Les Chataigners is a mature vineyard, and in a good white burgundy vintage such as '09 it delivers the bold, classic, glacé fruit and seductive, nutty, oaky hazelnut spice that fans of Lamy crave. Delicious. Drinking now and until 2015."
We are big fans of Lamy's wines at Private Cellar and highly recommend them. For more information, please call us on 01353 721 999.
