Château Beauchêne in the Press
Amandine Bernard from Château Beauchêne contacted us recently with the latest news from her family property, which has been gaining international acclaim from some of the world's best known wine-writers.
America's Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar) wrote the following notes about their delicious Châteauneuf du Pape, rating it highly:
2006 Château Beauchêne Châteauneuf du Pape Vignoble de la Serrière
Deep red. Ripe, youthfully tight kirsch and red berry aromas are complemented by cured tobacco and minerals. Energetic red fruit flavours gain weight and sweetness with air, picking up dusty tannins on the back. Showing more depth and power than last year, and finishing with good lift and clarity. I'd age this for a few years. 89(+?)
2007 Château Beauchêne Châteauneuf du Pape Vignoble de la Serrière
Deep red. Intensely floral bouquet of raspberry, candied cherry, flowers and woodsmoke. Pliant red fruit flavors are firmed by fine-grained tannins and pick up a suave floral note on the back. This should offer early appeal. 88-91
