Robert Parker gives la Monastière Blanc the nod

We all think that La Monastière Blanc, made by Château Grinou, is utterly delicious so we weren't surprised to see that Robert Parker thinks so too! His tasting note is below:

Ch Grinou is located thirty miles south of St Emilion. The dynamic vigneron Guy Cuisset produces a wonderfully exotic, floral and exuberant white wine from a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon.

"The wines of Bergerac, the appellation just to the east of Pomerol, tend to be light and fruity, but this is a surprisingly intense blend of Semillon and Sauvignon. The big bouquet of rich, intense fruit and flowers is followed by a crisp, lively, ripe, exuberantly styled dry white wine that is oh so easy to drink. It saddens me that more wines such as this are not readily found in the marketplace, because they have that rare virtue of pleasing both neophytes and connoisseurs. Over the last several years this offering from Chateau Grinou has been one of my favorite dry white wines for everyday drinking. A great value!" Robert Parker
