Château de Marsan
Owned by the Gonfrier family and situated in the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux on the eastern bank of the Garonne, Château de Marsan’s white comes from a young vineyard planted with 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon.
Their winery is very sophisticated, with the emphasis being on producing modern, fresh, ripe wines, which have not escaped the notice of the UK's top wine writers:
"... tuck into this contemporary bold, grassy, green tomato-spiked, sauvignon blanc-dominant bordeaux, topped up with buttery semillon and tailor-made for summer's fishy salads." Jane MacQuitty, The Times Top 100 Wines of Summer
"Serious Sauvignon Blanc: full with lifted citrussy fruit and a depth of flavour that would repay ageing." Steven Spurrier, Decanter Magazine
"Bristling Sauvignon Blanc with grassy, currant-leaf flavours, a touch of spice and minerality." Joanna Simon, Decanter Magazine
