Domaine Rossignol-Trapet
Domaines in Burgundy are forever carved up as a result of the archaic inheritance laws and Rossignol-Trapet is a perfect example, formed when Nicolas Rossignol married Florence Trapet.
Based in Gevrey Chambertin, they have been quietly moving their viticulture over to bio-dynamic principles, achieving full bio-dynamic status a few years ago. More recently, they have taken minimal intervention to a new level, racking (aerating) wines only when absolutely necessary whilst still maintaining an astonishing degree of freshness.
Quietly getting on with making good wines, this is a Domaine which has improved dramatically and offers excellent value for money.
Nicolas Rossignol describes his wines as ‘vins gourmands’, with medium to low acidity levels and wonderful layers of aromatics. Purity of fruit and freshness are the trademarks here.
