André Dezat, Sancerre and Pouilly FuméThe Dezat name is synonymous with quality Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé and we are great fans of their wines at Private Cellar – they have lots of energy, underlying depth of flavour and a delicious, chiselled minerality. Highly recommended for summer drinking! Click on the image opposite to download this offer as a PDF |

Rhône 2008In the right hands, 2008 has produced some delicious wines with fine acidity and alcohol, and soft, less invasive tannins than the legendary 2007. These are wines which will provide some lovely drinking in the short to medium term, maturing significantly earlier than the 2007s. Click on the image opposite to download this offer as a PDF |

Château de Sours Rosé 2009 Opening OfferWe are pleased once again to offer Château de Sours Rosé as a "primeur", for delivery prior to the next wallet-busting budget in March. Château de Sours proprietor Martin Krajewski has generously maintained last year's price, which means that despite an increase in duty and VAT we are still able to offer this Private Cellar favourite for under £7 a bottle. Dominus and Napanook 2006We are delighted to offer the 2006 vintage of Dominus and Napanook, Christian Moueix’s Napa venture, which has just been released onto the market. Not usually given to hyperbole, Christian describes the 2006 Dominus as ‘the best definition of a great wine; it transcends time and place’ – high praise indeed... Burgundy 2008Having followed the weather reports throughout the year, and having been in Burgundy just after harvest last year, we were braced for some challenging tastings. What we didn’t expect to find, however, were such juicy, succulent reds with lovely supple tannins, and such fresh, vibrant whites. These are wines which will be gorgeous to drink in the medium term, whilst the best will last for some time, with their fine acidity replacing tannin for backbone. Domaine Leflaive 2008The 2008 vintage across Burgundy offered challenges rarely seen by the vignerons but for bio-dynamic producers such as Domaine Leflaive the wet season, whilst challenging, was also proof of the efficacy of the system. Clos Cantenac, Saint Emilion Grand CruIntense, deeply flavoured, layered, with incredible finesse, Clos Cantenac, Saint Emilion Grand Cru is frankly extraordinary, even more so when you consider that this is the 2007 vintage, which was essentially cold and damp, saved at the last moment by the spectacular Indian summer. Harvested in the last week of September and the first week of October, the Clos Cantenac team took full advantage of the warm, dry days and cold nights to let the fruit ripen to its fullest. MAGNUMS!Although magnums are nothing more than two bottles in one, they deliver far more than twice the punch of a single bottle. Overtly generous yet understated, a magnum demands attention both through its sheer size and its subliminal message of liberality and we thought that now would be a perfect time to stock up on some truly gorgeous and rare magnums to give us a glimmer of feel-good factor this Autumn and beyond.
