Songlines Estates
“The Latour of the McLaren Vale”, Steven Spurrier
The Songlines collection is made from the finest fruit sourced in McLaren Vale, the acknowledged home of Shiraz, and the Hunter Valley – famed for its cool-climate whites.
Martin Krajewski spent time in Melbourne, establishing his international network of executive search offices in the 1980s and ’90s, and fell in love with the wines of Australia. When he had sold his business to concentrate on his wine interests (primarily Château de Sours in Bordeaux) he sought out two of the world’s most pre-eminent winemakers John Duval, former winemaker of Australia’s iconic red wine, Grange, and David Fatches, who honed his winemaking craft at the Wyndham Estate in Hunter Valley and together they created Songlines Estates.
The combination of their respect for winemaking traditions established over many centuries in the Old World, together with their experience and desire to harness all the vibrant and expressive characteristics of the best fruit in the New World, makes these wines some of the most characterful and exciting made in Australia today.
