Château Angludet, Margaux Magnums 2022

Red | France | Bordeaux | 13.5% | Full-bodied red

Deep purple black with a nose of tight, savoury black fruit, blackcurrant, blueberry and loganberry, with a very distant grilled note. On the palate savoury, juicy black and red fruits, with lovely supple tannins, plenty of them but integrated, savoury and rich going to a lovely long, inkily fruited finish. Very fine indeed - possibly the best Angludet to date. 2028 - 2039+

47% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon,13% Petit Verdot; 26hl/ha

Château Angludet is owned by the Sichel family and run by Ben Sichel, who went down the route of biodynamics in 2017. In 2019, Ben introduced amphorae to the cellar bringing greater freshness and subtlety to the wines, allowing the fruit to be fully expressed without the cover-up of oak. 12 months 65% in barrel, of which 30% new, 35% amphorae.
