At just 2.2 hectares, Château Séraphine is small even by Pomerol standards, and nearly a hectare of the vineyard needed replanting when they bought the property in 2017 so Innocence is the product of the young Merlot vines planted on a 0.6 hectare plot at Mazèyres, on the western edge of the appellation. If you are lucky enough to have a case of Château Séraphine in your reserve from this tiny harvest (just 3,200 in 2020) this will be the perfect wine to enjoy while you wait for the Grand Vin to mature.

Inkily dark to the rim with a nose of cedary, creamed red and black fruits, some distant spice, velvety with a lovely savoury note and just a hint of seriousness behind. On the palate fresh, spiced, exotic black fruits, green spices with cool, substantial supple tannins, less savoury than the nose and with a tight, structured finish.
