Technical Sheet |
Chris and Liz Watson run their micro Chablis property from afar with the day-to-day management in the hands of the Dampt brothers, well-known Chablis practitioners. The fruit for this wine comes from just over 0.5 ha (1 acre) of steep south-facing Kimmeridgian limestone in Vaudecource, near Chichée, located next to Premier Cru Vaucopin. Ageing is in stainless steel and seasoned oak and while Chris and his wife Liz are not in the vineyard every day, they decide the blend every year, so it is still very much their wine. Chris is so immersed in the region that he was made the first Pilier Royal for the United Kingdom – or senior member – of the Confrérie Les Piliers Chablisiens.
I would buy this wine again!
Tried this at a women in wine tasting in London and love it. It was really nice to meet Liz Watson and hear about where it comes from. Have bought a magnum for Christmas| Rating |

Their Chablis always has a touch of Côte d’Or plumpness to them as a result of a small proportion spending a few months in old oak barrels, and the 2022 is no exception; rich yet linear white stone fruit, ripe and intense with a lovely degree of complexity on the finish
