Technical Sheet |
In a little over 20 years, Domaine Fontaine Gagnard has become one of the most highly regarded producers in Chassagne Montrachet. Founded when Richard Fontaine married Laurence Gagnard in 1982 and combined their respective vineyards, their daughter Céline is now running the show, with the same modesty and hard work that have become trademarks of her parents' tenure.

Just under a hectare of vines on the southern side of the village, the Domaine’s largest premier cru runs from the top to the bottom of the hill, with water retaining clay-rich red soils at the bottom and white limestone-rich soils at the top; it is all harvested at the same time, but some parts are much cooler and fresher than others. Pale gold with a very tight, stony nose, mineral, almost steely, with some white flowers behind, leading to a richer palate, tight and linear, racy and citrussy, with green flowers, going to a long, tight, complex finish.
