Along the banks of the Garonne River there are many small villages where wines are made in a similar style to Sauternes but just not within the hallowed boundaries of the appellation. They too get the morning mists, the botrytis attacks and the afternoon sun which allows the noble botrytis to form, and Sainte Croix du Mont is one of the better known villages.
