Burgundy Domaine Baptiste Guyot

Domaine Baptiste Guyot is in the former farm of the Abbaye Saint-Martin, in the western part of Beaune on the border between the city and the vineyards. Our MW Nicola Arcedeckne-Butler described visiting the setting as experiencing a form of Narnia “you leave an urban street and arrive in a one-hectare vineyard, butted up to more vineyards on the hills above - it is quite discombobulating”. With his training at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and rich experience in family tradition to hand, Baptiste Guyot took over the management of the family estate in 2010.
Vineyard and vinification
This appellation consists of 2.5 hectares. The grape variety’s planted are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Aligoté and Baptiste Guyot works his vines in sustainable cultivation, favouring ploughing between rows and organic treatments. Since 2020, the Domaine has been operating its vines under HVE or High Environmental Value label.
Wines
Baptiste's Clos du Foulot, from the one hectare just behind his house, is a magical combination of intense, savoury white stone fruits, creamy with an overlay of white flowers and distant hint of orange zest. Toasty and rich, this has a lovely balancing acidity and a satisfying finish. You won’t want to miss this one.
