Château Picque-Caillou takes its name from the pebble strewn soils of the 21-hectare estate, located right at the gates of the city of Bordeaux itself. We are always assured a warm welcome from Paulin and Isabelle and their wines are enjoyed by Private Cellar customers and our team alike at parties, weddings, Sunday lunches, everyday suppers.

Deep, intense red black with a nose of soft black fruits, blackberry in particular, rich and intense, juicy and fresh – layers of fruit! Big black fruits carry through onto the palate, soft with substantial ripe tannins behind completely enveloped by fruit, going to a long, ripe finish with a hint of crunchy freshness. This will drink well early, midterm and longer term.
