Technical Sheet |
In its second decade, the Krajewski family’s Clos Cantenac, to the west of St Emilion, continues to go from strength to strength. The vines, which now average around 36 years old, are really getting into their stride and Martin’s daughter Charlotte – Lolly – who has been making the wine there for the past three vintages, is constantly refining how she treats the grapes, both in the vineyard and the cellar, in order to highlight their terroir.

Deep ruby not opaque, now coming from three vineyards with the very best quality reserved for Clos Cantenac. Much more intense on the nose, denser red and black fruit, bright and intense, floral and with red cherries going to a correspondingly brighter palate of red and black fruits, cherries and ripe red plums, with a lovely note of ripe skins for texture, elegant yet cool and concentrated, with good acidity to balance and with lovely focus, finishing with spice from the oak, and beautiful, fine grained tannins. This wine has such a lovely intense black fruit core and a long, spiced, cherry infused finish. Really elegant and delicious and a huge step up, offering seriously impressive value. Drink 2028 - 2035
